About the event
The UpStream Songwriting Retreat creates time and space for songwriting, as well as inspires your intention as a songwriter. Coaches, Phoebe Hunt, Clay Rose, and Daniel Rodriguez will lead you through this 3 1/2 day exploration.
There will be 20-30 participants. In the past, some were not able to attend because this number filled. There will be a division of 2 groups for workshops. The recording and performing groups will be smaller--5 groups of 4 or 5. Demos will be of collaborations of these smaller groups.
Lodging should be made directly with Murphy's Resort by calling 970-480-2955 using the code: UPSTREAM. You may wish to make arrangements with another participant to save money. You are also welcome to invite your family to stay with you, though they may not attend workshops unless they are participating songwriters. There are many things to enjoy in Estes Park.
The Listening Show will be a ticketed event. Your tuition covers your admittance. We will open up early bird tickets for your friends and family for a limited time before making tickets available for the general public, as this show may sell out.
The schedule is subject to change regarding time or description as the planning is evolving.
Re: The Day in Lyons. We are paying for studio time for the day. You will be able to quietly observe other recording sessions from the control room if you wish. You can also watch others perform.
Our tuition is $420, but we are working hard to request of some local arts non-profits a subsidizing of this fee. It is our hope to reduce it by at least $60. You may be able find a benefactor in your own community who will pay part or all of your tuition. This could be from an individual, crowd funding, a business, or non-profit. We are happy to count any business or organization who assists you as a sponsor of this event, and give them shout-outs and event use their logo in our marketing materials. If you would like an email with copy to use for your requests, we are happy to provide that for you. When you are ready to register, we will ask you to pay a non-refundable deposit of $210. The balance will be invoiced on January 2, 2023. We hope to reduce the balance due by any amount that is subsidized.
